Call for Papers

The Indian Journal of Law and Society (IJLS) invites submissions from law students and professionals interested in contributing to the field of law and socially relevant issues for its September 2024 issue (Vol. II, Issue IV), under the following categories (including footnotes):

1. Articles: 3500-6000 words
2. Essays: 2500-3500 words
3. Case notes/comments: 2000-3000 words
4. Book Review/Legislative Comments: 1000-1500 words

This call for papers aims to promote scholarly discourse and contribute to the advancement of legal knowledge. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

1. Constitutional Law and Governance
2. Criminal Law and Justice
3. Commercial Law and Business Regulations
4. Environmental Law and Sustainability
5. Intellectual Property Rights and Technology Law
6. Human Rights and Social Justice
7. Comparative Law and Legal Systems
8. International Law and Global Governance
9. Legal Education and Pedagogy
10. Emerging Trends and Contemporary Legal Issues

Submission Guidelines

To ensure the quality and consistency of published work, authors are requested to adhere to the following submission guidelines:

1. Manuscript Preparation:
a. All manuscripts should be written in English.
b. Submissions should be in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx) or compatible formats.
c. The manuscript should be double-spaced with a standard font (e.g., Times New Roman) and a font size of 12.
d. Margins should be set to 1 inch (2.54 cm) on all sides.

2. Abstract and Keywords:
a. Submissions should include an abstract of no more than 250 words, summarizing the main objectives, findings, and conclusions of the paper.
b. Authors should provide a list of 4 to 5 keywords that accurately represent the subject matter of the manuscript.

3. Formatting and Citations:
a. Manuscripts should follow a recognized citation style, such as JILI, Bluebook, APA, Harvard, or any other consistent citation format.
b. Authors should ensure accurate and complete citations for all references used in the manuscript.
c. Endnotes should be preferred over footnote.

4. Author Information:
a. Authors should provide their full name, institutional affiliation, and contact details (including email address) in a separate cover letter accompanying the submission.

5. Originality and Ethics:
a. Manuscripts must be original works and should not be under consideration for publication elsewhere.
b. Authors are responsible for ensuring that their submissions do not infringe upon any copyright or intellectual property rights.
c. Any potential conflicts of interest should be disclosed.

6. Review Process:
a. All submissions will undergo a rigorous peer-review process to evaluate their quality, relevance, and contribution to legal scholarship.
b. Reviewers' comments and suggestions will be provided to the authors to enhance the quality of the manuscript.

7. Publication and Copyright:
a. Accepted manuscripts will be published in the Indian Journal of Law and Society.
b. Copyright of the published articles will be vested with the journal.

8. Language and Grammar:
a. Manuscripts should be written in clear, concise language with correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation.

Publication Details

After acceptance of manuscript, following fees is to be paid:
· For Single Author –  1200 INR.
· For Two Authors – 1500 INR.
· For Foreign Author – 25 USD.

Note: Due to the high volume of submissions, only selected manuscripts will be published. Authors of selected papers will be notified accordingly.

Important Dates

· Submission Deadline: 30th Spetember 2024.

· Review and Decision: 10th October

· Publication: 15th October.
